Watch: Arnel Pineda sings ‘You’re the Inspiration’ with Chicago on stage

Manila, Philippines - Arnel Pineda who rose to international fame after becoming a Youtube sensation and now as a front man of the band Journey, entertained Filipinos when he was invited to sing with the band Chicago.



On January 20, Wednesday, Pineda wowed the audience at a Chicago concert in Araneta Coliseum when he went up the stage and belted out the Chicago hit "You're the inspiration."

"Some guys only need one word for his first name," Chicago founder Robert Lamm said whilst introducing Pineda. "Such is this man. His name is Arnel."

And the crowd went wild with joy.

Pineda who wore a red V-neck shirt and black vest, can be seen very comfortable on stage and, before he exited the scene, exclaimed "I love these guys" as a farewell.

Three-chair turner Amy Vachal made it through the blind auditions of the 9th season of The Voice after making an impact to all four judges with her amazing rendition of the classic "Dream A Litte Dream of Me."


Coaches Blake Shelton, Pharell, and Gwen Stefani immediately pressed their buttons after Vachal finished the first verse of the song. 

"Please Lord! Please pick me," Blake was heard saying. After the performance, Blake compared Vachal to Norah Jones and Colbie Caillat. 

"Thank you for bringing what you do in our show," Blake added.

Maroon 5 vocalist Adam Levine didn't turn, explaining that his team is full. If not, he would turn around first.

When she was asked who she'll pick as her coach, the Pinay singer chose Pharell.



Trivia: Vachal is a niece of Cebu third district Representative Gwendolyn Garcia.

Elizabeth Ramsey passes away at 83

The "Queen of Philippine Rock and Roll" and "Original Queen of Comedy" popularly known as Elizabeth Ramsey, passed away in her sleep, her daughter Jaya confirms on a facebook post Thursday. She was 83.


"Mama Beth Ramsey is now with our Lord... 83 years has been full. Love and daughter, she has given not just our family but the whole nation."
"Thank you for your love and prayers and I rejoice because she passes in her sleep. In peace. In God's loving arms. Bye, Mama, until we meet again. I love you forever," she added.

Ramsey was known for her Visayan-accented dialogue and her funny gestures. She rose to fame after winning in 1958 the singing contest in Student Canteen, the first noontime show on Philippine television.

She was survived by her three children on her first marriage, and her daugther Jaya, a Filipina recording artist.

K-Pop Band Brought A Different Flavor To The Filipino Iconic Song "Anak"

A K-Pop band did an impressive rendition of the iconic song "Anak" popularized by Filipino folk-singer Freddie Aguilar in 1978. They incorporated their rock genre to the song that brought a different flavor for the viewers. 

The lead vocals started singing the song in Tagalog but switched to Korea halfway through the video.


In 1977, "Anak" was a finalist in the Metro Pop Song Festival. And due to its popularity both local and abroad, it was released in 56 countries and in 27 different languages. 

The song became number one in the U.S. for two weeks, has sold 30 million copies and was a world hit in 80's.


The video was first published on Youtube in February 2014 but continues to take netizens by storm as it receives thousands of shares and likes.

"Tanging Ina" Ai Ai delas Alas posted on Tuesday a photo of a healthy-looking Jiro Manio, a former child actor who made headlines on June 30 after seeing him wandering around NAIA scavenging for food and living off the kindness of airport employees.

"Ok na ok sya buhay na buhay...Sana sa mga taong nagkakalat na patay sya tumigil na sila," said delas Alas in the caption.

According to ABS-CBN as reported by Coconuts Manila, Manio's brother Anjo also told DZMM on Monday that Jiro is "okay. Siguro medyo nagkaroon lang kami ng problema. Pero sana maging maayos po ang problema kung anuman po yung kinakaharap namin nagyon at ang kapatid ko, " he added.

After people from around the world and local celebrities in the Philippines showcased their talents and grooved to Silento's new single "Watch me whip/nae nae," it seems netizens can't still get enough of the American hip-hop artist's music that even Jollibee was hypnotized to do his own moves. That is correct because even the big and smiling bee of the Philippine's giant fast food chain entertained its customers in one of its many stores in the country.

Guy's mashup songs of Jessie J's "Flashlight" went viral

A guy who goes by the name Kelvin John Pengco is making a name for himself after his video singing Jessie J's flashlight using Smule app went viral. 


But unlike other videos circulating on the internet, Pengco made a twist and included the songs "Someone like you", "No one," "Price tag," "The man who can't be moved," and a Tagalog song called "Gayuma." 

according to Pengco, he and his aunt were just expecting to receive a thousand views. But to their amazement, the video was viewed 290k times seven hours after it was uploaded on Facebook.

What everybody thought to be just a comedic video of Cacai Bautista, an actress, host, singer, and comedian in the Philippineswas actually an amazing performance worthy of sharing. 


In the video Cacai was seen sporting a short, blond hair and making faces in the onset of the song. But when she started opening her mouth, a voice of an angel came out.

The video of Cacai singing Jessie J's flashlight from the movie Pitch Perfect 2 was first uploaded on Facebook last night and was viewed 561,468 times, garnered 40,574 likes and 13,345 shares as of this writing. 

Julia Montes 'flattered' after Coco Martin chooses her as leading lady


MANILA, Philippines - Julia Montes feels flattered to be personally chosen by Coco Martin to star with him in “Wansapanataym Presents: Yamishita's Treasure.”

“Of course super happy,” Julia replied when asked to react about being chosen by Coco to be her leading lady.
She also adds that she's excited with this project since “‘yong mga ginawa ko lately medyo intense,tingin ng iba medyo mature. Pero dito medyo light, medyo comedy, makikita ‘yong ibang side ko and together pa kami ni Coco.”
She recently starred in the film “Halik sa Hangin” and the defunct drama series “Ikaw Lamang.” This new project is slated to run for five weeks.
Julia also admitted that she missed working with Coco since “every time na nagkakatrabaho kami may bago akong natututunan sa kanya.”
Meanwhile, when prodded about the real status of their relationship, Julia kept mum and let Coco answer for them. The actor then denied that they're already a couple.

Aiza Siguerra weds Liza Dino in California

Aiza Siguerra, the former child wonder who was first discovered after joining Eat Bulaga's "Little Miss Philippines" and later in his life recorded songs positively received by his fans, finally exchanged "I do's" to Liza Dino in a simple and private ceremony in California.

Seguerra, 31, who recently went on record to identify himself as a transgender man, married Dino months after they got engaged in February this year.


ABS-CBN North Bureau reporter Steve Angeles tweeted photos of Siguerra and Dino, confirming that the two indeed tied the knot.

Siguerra and Dino will stay in the US for the time being, but they're planning to go back to the Philippines where they could celebrate their union.

Siguerra consider's Dino's daughter from a previous relationship as her own, and is acting as their "padre de pamilya"

Leah Salonga vented her anger after the alleged leaks of winners of "The Voice" Battle Rounds

Broadway star and current coach of "The Voice of the Philippines" Leah Salonga expressed anger on Twitter, aimed directly to an audience member of the ABS-CBN program for supposedly spoiling the results of the upcoming leg of the competition.


Salonga tweeted that the "leaker" allegedly started to announce the winners of the Battle Rounds taped a few weeks back. The said tapes are scheduled to be aired nationwide to the public starting this Saturday.

Even "The Voice of the Philippines" official Twitter page wasn't happy with the leak. They warned against posting spoilers, saying anyone who leaks results of the competition "will be blocked/banned from our Twitter account and Facebook page."


After sharing her sentiments in a series of tweets, Salonga added: 

For me, it is less about those results and more about the artists on every team that pour their hearts out through their voices. That is the part that makes this journey such riveting television.

So, regardless of what you know, watch [the show] to witness great artistry in the singers that have made it to those Battles and Knockouts. Watch them as they navigate through the competition rounds, root for your idols when they sing.

And praise God that our country is blessed with an abundance of musical talent. No spoiler can take that away. So don't deprive these artists of the attention they deserve. Their voices shall be heard!"

Video: Bunot Sings "Kailangan Kita" With Idol Gary V. On Gandang Gabi Vice

The newest internet sensation, "Bunot" aka Roland Abante, was first got social media attention when his video singing "To Love Somebody" by Michael Bolton was uploaded. His video on Youtube reached over 1 million views and counting. 


According to Vice, Vhong Navarro told him about Bunot's video and how good a singer he is. However, Vice forgot to watch the video. Fortuntely, Billy Crawford posted the video on his Instagram account; that was the time Vice was able to witness Bunot's amazing voice.

Vice later admitted that he asked his staff to search for him to have him on the show.

When asked about the rumor of Ellen DeGeneres' invitation, the singer from Cebu confirmed on Gandang Gabi Vice on November 30, Sunday, that his manager indeed received a call from the American talk show host.

Bunot revealed that one of his idols is Gary Valenciano. Little did he know that Gary was there and was also impressed of his singing prowess. They both performed a duet, singing the classic song "Kailangan Kita." It was a superb rendition despite the fact that Bunot's voice during the performance was a little hoarse.

After singing, Bunot thanked everyone who helped him reached his dream.

Casper Blancafor's Distinct Voice And Amazing Rendition of "Kisapmata" Received Great Comments From The Judges

Casper Blancaflor's rendition of Rivermaya's original hit Kisapmata wowed the judges of The Voice Philippines. Coaches who turned were Coach Bamboo and Coach Leah. Although the two other coaches didn't turn, Coach Sarah and Coach Apl, they both  praised Casper for her great work and distinct voice.


Coach Bamboo who turned first after hearing the soulful and superb voice of Blancaflor said: I think this is the first. Any song I've been a part of I never turned unless you bring in something special. You brought me somewhere else. It was so beautiful and uh, thank you for playing that song.

Casper was overwhelmed upon hearing the judges amazing comments for her. She thanked them all whilst almost on the verge of tears. When it was time for her to choose who will be her coach, she chose Bamboo; the voice behind Kisapmata, the same song she sung.

Dingdong and Marian are now engaged!

GMA actor Dingdong Dantes surprised the Kapuso Primetime Queen Marian Rivera at the latter's dance show "Marian." Dantes proposed to Rivera on the show's live telecast on Saturday.

Before the proposal, pictures and video footage of the couple were shown which made the actress emotional.

The actress accepted the actor's proposal and promised him she will give everything to Dantes including children, and even if she gained weight.

Artist of the Year Award at the first ever Youtube Music Awards goes to Controversial Rapper, Eminem

The controversial rapper, Eminem, was named Artist of the Year at the first ever Youtube Music Awards beating other nominees like One Direction, Justin Bieber, Lady Gaga, Katy Perry, Rihanna, Taylor Swift and Selena Gomez.

Actor Jason Schwartzman with comic-musician Reggie Watts hosted the show without a script. Report said things at the show were a little disorganized, with the mic losing power twice.  

“This felt more like a festival,” said actor Jason Schwartzman as he closed the show.

If the host felt that, so did the winners. The awards were treated with a healthy bit of irreverence

"The dopest paperweight ever,”" said "See me standing" singer DeStorm who got the innovation of the year award.

There were 61 billion votes cast for nominees in six categories according to the host, but a little more than 155,000 viewers watched the stream. It can therefore be concluded that a lot of people voted a lot of times.

The biggest early surprise was YouTube phenomenon People doing Taylor Swift’s “I Knew You Were Trouble” beat “Gangnam Style.”

Justin Bieber's bodyguards carried him up the Great Wall of China

This might be taken lightly by his fans with a certain degree of amusement of what he has done. What's the buzz? Well, Justin Bieber was carried up to the Great Wall of China by his bodyguards on Monday.

The scene of the Canadian singer sitting on his bodyguards' shoulders strolling up to Beijing's famous landmark was captured, and is making rounds on social networking sites particularly on the photo sharing site, Instagram. It was right away retweeted and received thousands of favorites by his admirers and followers.

"Justin being carried by his bodyguards up the Great Wall of China today in Beijing, China (September 30th, 2013)" said of the page dedicated to the Canadian star.

An update of his adventures was later uploaded saying they reached the top with his bodyguards surrounding him.

"I still can't get over the fact that Justin made his bodyguards carry him to the top of the great wall of China. "He is lazy like me haha (sic)," said twitter user @MusicOfKidrauhl.

He must be super tired because prior to the climbing he was spotted skateboarding around, with his bodyguards watching from behind as they jogged.

However, not all are happy with the result of his action.

"Justin, dude, u actually asked people to carry you? 'Someone's going a little diva I see (sic)" tweeter user ohkidrauhlfeels wrote.
