Two employees of Philippine Overseas Employment Agency (POEA) were caught playing computer games while working at Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 2.
According to POEA Administrator Hans Cacdac, the two personnel manning the POEA counter at the airport have now been identified.
Both of the employees were formerly in charge of the Overseas Employment Certificate (OEC), a certificate the Overseas Filipino Worker has to present prior to leaving the country.
Although they weren't accommodating anybody when they were caught red-handed, the Administrator said they cannot tolerate such act. The agency has a circular which was issued in May, clearly stating that the use of the computers are for business purposes only.
The investigation is now ongoing. Penalties can start from reprimand to suspension. And since one of the women was a contractual employee, it's possible for her to lose her job.
