First reported on Friday by Franco Nebas of Post-Courier, an online news from New Guinea's national newspaper, this horrifying crime is making its way to international headlines.
The man named Rex Eric who's now in police custody, allegedly bit the neck of his 3 year-old daughter, ate her flesh and drunk her blood. The incident happened on October 9 at a community in Lae, with two boys as witnesses. The boys had climbed a tree and saw the gruesome act.
Even after being caught, Eric "was just laughing at the boys and continued eating the flesh and sucking the blood," said local government official John Kenny to the Post Courier.
The matter haven't been verified by the CIA yet, but according the organization there have been reports of similar incidents across the little-known country in the Southwestern Pacific Ocean.
One in particular was the case in July when 29 people believed to be members of a cult, killed and ate seven people who they suspect were witch doctors.
The suspects ate the brains and made a soup with the penises of those they killed.
A similar horrifying act was the story of a 20 year-old mother Keparu Leniata, who was burned alive in front of a crowd after the death of a boy in the community. She was accused of practicing witchcraft and the one responsible to the death of the boy.
