Paul Walker, best known for his role in the hit movie "Fast and Furious," died Saturday. In the statement released by Paul's rep: "He was a passenger in a friend's car, in which both lost their lives."
Paul was "attending a charity event for his organization Reach Out Worldwide," the rep added.
The accident happened in Santa Clarita, California. The driver who was later confirmed as Paul's friend, lost control and slammed into a post or tree. Then the car exploded.
According to sources close to the 40-year-old Paul, the actor was in Santa Clarita for a car show to support Yolanda victims in the Philippines. He'd gone with a friend in a Porsche GT, and the accident took place during that test spin.
The story was first reported by TMZ. People initially thought it was a hoax. Unfortunately, this time it isn't.
