Teen Allegedly Throws Boiling Water On Girl For Unfriending Him On Facebook

The advent of Facebook a few years ago made the world small and created connections to long lost friends and relatives. Good, right? But with all the good things around, not so good ones happen as well.

One such incident happened in India when a teen took revenge on a girl who unfriended him on Facebook. According to Indian authorities, he burned the girl's face with boiling water.

The boy came to see the 15-year-old victim in her house on Wednesday and told her he left his I.D. in the home. He then allegedly pushed the victim's mother aside and poured the boiling water on the girl's face.

The victim was rushed to the hospital and is being treated for burns to 20 percent of her face that goes down to the right side of her neck.

In a translation of a statement to police obtained by the Hindustan Times, the victim said, "My father is a teacher and he (the accused) used to come for tuitions to our home. I accepted his (Facebook) friend request a year ago because I found him decent then. But of late he had become abusive and so I unfriended him last week."

The boy, a student at a Muzaffarpur college, fled the scene following the incident. Police are currently looking for him.
