Ariella Arida, the Philippines Bet To The Miss Universe Pageant, Apologizes For Offensive Latina Comments

Controversial and outspoken radio and sometimes TV personality, DJ Mo Twister, reacted on Miss Philippines - Universe Ariella Arida's statement regarding Latina's inability to string a sentence correctly.

"I don't intend to bash on our Ms Philippines here but how the [expletive] is this not considered offensive toward Latinas?" he asked on Instagram.

"That would royally piss me off if I were of Latin descent. I'm pretty sure we would lose our minds if we heard an interview of a contestant saying 'Filipinos can't string a sentence together' and our Senator/Congressman would persona non grata that bitch immediately,” the DJ added.

But Arida said she didn't mean to offend anyone. Her comment about Latina beauties was misinterpreted. According to her, it's her way of defending herself from critics who said her English communication isn't that good.

"Is this our Miss Universe? I think she's having a hard time speaking in English," asked by a twitter user

She said she's working on her communication skills now.

"You know, I've [gotten] a lot of trainings, especially on my communication skills. And I'm doing my best to really express myself, to convey a message to the people.”

The knight in shining armor Ervic Vijandre, the man reportedly dating the beauty queen, defended her against DJ Mo.

“Bakla lang ang peg! Gusto yata maging beauty queen. Kulang ka sa Height teh!#littleladyboyFollow,” the model-actor captioned the screenshot of Mo’s Instagram rant.
