The Empire State Building in New York, one of the tallest building in America and in the world, will shine tonight and tomorrow night in the color of the Philippine flag.
According to the Empire State Building's Twitter account, the move to light the gigantic structure is to raise awareness of the tragedy brought by super typhoon Haiyan.
The category 5 typhoon made its landfall on November 8 in Central Philippines, with the province of Leyte being hit the strongest. The tragedy cost destruction worth billions of dollars and the lives of about 3,000 people.
The photo which was first posted on the Empire State Building's Twitter account is now making rounds on social networking sites. People are starting to hit likes and shares as a way of showing their gratitude to this simple yet inspiring move of the fourth tallest building in the New World.
