False CNN Statement Positively Impacted The Filipino People

For some, words may not be enough to comfort those who suffered after super typhoon Yolanda (Hainan) hit the central Philippines. But for others, words can be a source of strength and hope.

The photo with a Cable News Network (CNN) logo that says "Filipinos will shake off the dirt and will rise up" is now circulating on social networking sites, and has since gone viral.

Most internet users however, didn't bother to verify the authenticity of the photo, and started hitting likes and shares.

The photo, though not officially from CNN, brought great relief and positive effect to those who read. But more so, it positively impacted the Filipino people in general in more ways that one.

Truth of the matter is, the circulating image was just a comment made on the CNN news portal on the 9th of November by someone who uses the name dudesk001, under the  CNN article  “Super Typhoon Haiyan, one of strongest storms ever, hits central Philippines.” The article was written by Jethro Mullen on CNN's website on November the 8th.
