Rachelle Ann Go wasn't a Filipino household name yet until she joined the reality talent contest "Search for a Star" in 2004. Now, anther milestone has been received by the former Kapamilya singer after landing a role in the West End revival of "Miss Saigon."
Go will portray Gigi, a hardened bar girl originally portrayed by a fellow Filipino talent Isay Alvarez, while Jonjon Briones will take on the character role of the Engineer.
Meanwhile, the titular role of Kim portrayed by Miss Leah Salonga and Miss Monique Wilson in the past will be portrayed this time by 17-year-old Filipino-American and native of Charlotte, North Carolina, Eva Noblezada.
Noblezada was discovered by casting director Tara Rubin in New York City during the 2013 Jimmy Awards.
Other Filipino talents who made it to the final round during the audition in Manila early this year are theater actresses Tanya Manalang and Apple Chiu, singer-actress Frenchescka Farr, Emerald Bañares and Mary Jane Solomon.
