Philippine Police Are Banned In Doing "Selfies"

Having been added to Oxford dictionaries, "Selfie" can therefore be concluded as the most popular word this year. And as the year 2013 draws to a close, the word "selfie" will remain to be one of the most used words especially for people with camera phones. 

However, not all people can take their own photos. The Philippine police involved in relief operations in the affected areas of Super Typhoon Haiyan have been banned to take pictures of themselves. 
The ban on selfies had been ordered by police leadership after hearing that some members of the police force uploaded their selfies on social medias

"I think that's (selfies) being insensitive. People there are suffering from the effects of the typhoon, losing home and loved ones, yet here they are posing for pictures as if it is something enjoyable," Sarmiento said.

Those that already uploaded their selfies from the disaster zones are ordered to remove them at once, she added.

The category 5 typhoon Haiyan, one of the strongest ever to make a landfall slammed the Philippines on November 8, destroying billions of properties and killing at least 5,000 people.

Police were then sent to the affected areas to help with peace and order as looting became deadly due to lack of food
