Train mishap severed a man's head

A man identified as 20-year-old Jordan de Jesus died on Monday after a north-bound train of the Philippine National Railways (PNR) in Sampaloc, Manila hit him.

The victim's head was severed and his body was dismembered when the train dragged him for at least 200 meters.

People who were on the scene said the victim tried to avoid the south-bound train but ended up being hit by the train on the other side of the tracks.

Relatives of the victims aren't pushing for any charges against PNR nor demanding any financial assistance. However, any help from the agency will be welcomed.

Residents of the area are asking the government to construct a protective wall to avoid more accidents. It can be recalled that 5-year-old Daniela Tolosa died on Friday after she was hit by the train in the same area where de Jesus died.
